Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2, 2026
PairStreak ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information you authorize those providers to share.
User-uploaded photos and images: The App allows you to take or select photos and share them with your paired partner. When you choose to share a photo, the image file is uploaded to our servers and stored securely. These photos are user-generated content that you voluntarily create and submit. Photos are accessible only to you and the partner you are paired with within the App. We do not access, view, or use your photos for any purpose other than delivering them to your intended recipient and displaying them back to you as part of the App's core functionality.
Profile photos: You may optionally upload a profile photo (avatar). This image is stored on our servers and is visible to your paired partner.
Usage data: We collect basic usage analytics such as app opens, feature usage, and crash reports to improve the App. This data is not linked to your identity.
Device information: We collect device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging purposes.
Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we store your device push token to send daily reminders and pair activity notifications.
2. No Collection of Face Data or Biometric Data
Although users may upload photos that contain faces, PairStreak does not perform facial recognition, face detection, or any form of biometric analysis on uploaded images. Specifically:
- We do not extract, compute, or store facial feature data, face templates, face maps, or any biometric identifiers from user photos.
- We do not use uploaded photos for facial recognition, face identification, face verification, or any biometric identification or authentication purpose.
- We do not analyze, scan, or process the contents of uploaded photos using computer vision, machine learning, or any image-analysis technology for the purpose of identifying individuals or extracting biometric information.
- We do not use uploaded photos for advertising, user profiling, behavioral analysis, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the App's core photo-sharing functionality.
- Uploaded photos are treated solely as opaque image files — user-generated content that is stored and delivered to the intended recipient without any processing of their visual contents.
To the extent that applicable laws define "face data" or "biometric data," PairStreak does not collect, use, store, or disclose any such data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (photo sharing, streaks, pairing)
- To deliver user-uploaded photos to the intended paired partner
- To send you notifications about your partner's activity and daily reminders
- To improve the App through anonymized usage analytics
- To measure app install attribution, campaign performance, and advertising effectiveness via AppsFlyer, and to enable re-engagement advertising on third-party platforms, subject to your tracking preferences (see Section 7)
- To respond to support requests
- To enforce our Terms of Service
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
User-uploaded photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage (Amazon S3) and delivered to authorized users via a secure content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) using cryptographically signed URLs that expire after a limited time. Signed URLs ensure that only authenticated users within an active pair can view the photos shared with them. Your account data is stored in an encrypted database. All data in transit is protected using HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Photos are stored as image files only. No metadata, annotations, facial features, or derived data are extracted from uploaded photos at any point during upload, storage, or delivery.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share, sell, license, or provide user-uploaded photos to any third party for advertising, analytics, machine learning training, or any purpose unrelated to operating the App. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Your paired partner: Photos you share and your display name are visible to the user you are paired with within the App. No other users can access your photos.
- Infrastructure and service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for photo storage and delivery and Firebase (Google) for authentication. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
- Analytics and advertising partners: We use AppsFlyer for install attribution and campaign measurement. Subject to your tracking preferences (see Section 7), AppsFlyer may share device-level identifiers or audience segments with third-party advertising platforms — including Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok — so that we can deliver re-engagement advertisements to existing users on those platforms. These advertising partners receive only the limited data necessary for ad delivery and measurement (such as device identifiers or hashed audience lists) and do not receive your photos, display name, or other personal content from the App.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect our legal rights.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data — including all photos you have uploaded (daily photos, profile photos, and any associated image files) — within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.
Photos that you upload are retained on our servers for the duration of your account to provide the App's photo history and streak features. When photos are deleted (whether through account deletion or other removal mechanisms within the App), the image files are permanently removed from our storage infrastructure.
7. Tracking and Advertising Transparency
PairStreak uses AppsFlyer, a third-party analytics service, for two purposes:
- Install attribution and campaign measurement: Understanding which campaigns or channels led users to install the App, so we can measure advertising effectiveness.
- Re-engagement advertising: Enabling us to reach existing users with advertisements on third-party platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, and TikTok. To do this, AppsFlyer may share device-level identifiers or audience segment data with these advertising platforms on our behalf.
iOS — App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On iOS devices, before any data is collected or shared for tracking, advertising measurement, or retargeting purposes, PairStreak requests your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. This prompt appears as a system dialog asking whether you allow the App to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites.
- If you grant ATT permission, AppsFlyer may collect your device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and limited device-level data for install attribution, campaign measurement, and re-engagement advertising on third-party platforms.
- If you deny ATT permission, we do not collect your IDFA, and no data is shared with advertising platforms for retargeting purposes. AppsFlyer may still receive limited, non-identifying technical data (such as a probabilistic attribution model that does not use device identifiers) in accordance with Apple's guidelines, but no cross-app tracking or retargeting occurs.
You can change your ATT preference at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android
On Android devices, AppsFlyer may collect the device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID) for install attribution and re-engagement advertising purposes. You can reset or disable your advertising identifier in your device's Settings under Google > Ads.
What tracking data is and is not used for
Tracking-related data collected through AppsFlyer is used for install attribution, campaign measurement, and delivering re-engagement advertisements to existing users on third-party platforms. It is not used to serve advertisements within the App, sell data to data brokers, or share your photos, display name, or personal content with advertisers. PairStreak does not display third-party advertisements within the App. Advertising platforms that receive audience data from AppsFlyer for retargeting are contractually prohibited from using that data for purposes other than delivering and measuring our ad campaigns.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, including all uploaded photos
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing
- Opt out of tracking via your device's privacy settings (see Section 7)
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through our Contact page.
9. Children's Privacy
PairStreak is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

- Amazon Web Services — photo storage (S3) and delivery (CloudFront)
- AppsFlyer — install attribution, campaign analytics, and re-engagement advertising (subject to your tracking preferences; see Section 7)

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please reach out through our Contact page.
